Never Have I Ever...

Never have I ever posted so many photos on my blog!

The editing was next to impossible because each photo was better than the last, so enjoy.  I give you... the ultimate former original roommate post.

My parents were here for a few days so we tried to see as much as we could with the time we had together.

Never have I ever been sick since I was out here.  I got a horrible cold just before they arrived.  My dad arrived with a similar cold.  It would be a miracle if my mom didn't get it (spoiler: she didn't!).

Never have I ever lived somewhere where my parents could visit for an extended time and I could be the tour guide in a new place.  We had a huge agenda and I couldn't be more excited (or organized)!

Never have I ever seen such a beautiful beach!  Our first stop was at El Matador Beach.  It was a little bit of a drive beyond Malibu but it was definitely worth the view!

We parked and walked down a few stairs to the beach below.  There are no words and the pictures hardly capture the beauty.

Beach caves, hey Paleo!

SHE IS IN THE WATER!!

Pelicans

Muscles

Locals

Shadows, guess who!?
Tried to write in the sand for some friends at home.  Sun wasn't cooperating...

...so I took it upside down and flipped it!  We got a few confused stares.

Has anyone seen The Descent?!

Proof I was there too

Just a reminder, it's February.

Afterward, we stopped at Moonshadows for a little bite to eat.  Hoped to see some celebrities but it was crowded with locals and screeching seagulls.  We did see a few dolphins pass by in the ocean.  Though we didn't see the rich and famous, we did have a pretty nice view anyway.

My makers in Malibu

Shhhh!  I can't share through the window.  Git.

Never have I ever seen the skate park in Venice Beach OR Muscle Beach nearby.  We stopped by both today just before sunset.

No filter, pure beauty

The Skate Park @ Venice Beach

No words.

We weren't staying focused.  So many distractions!  Sunset and shadows.

I've been to the Hollywood sign with Kelly just the week before my parents arrived.  I wanted a different twist on it and since 1/6 knees couldn't tolerate a good hike through the hills I opted for Sunset Ranch to give us a tour.

Never have I ever ridden horseback in California.  We got the horseback tour of the Hollywood sign, the hills and a bit of history from our guide, Jamie.

I, Gus, was leader of the pack.  This ride allowed us to see everything from the edge of the cliffs that dropped into the canyon.  Flashback to mom and I at the Grand Canyon, holding onto each other as we approached the edge of just the outlook that extended out and hung over the canyon.  We are terrified of these cliffs.  I get so dizzy!  We made it though, with clean pants too!

Helmets encouraged/required by the neuro nurse.

Notice how everyone is looking inward to the hillside?  HAHA YIKES!

More playing with shadows shot

Our guide.  Lots of history and trivia.  Yee Haw.

The dismount.  What a great tour!

Never have I ever acted like a visitor in Hollywood, until today.  First stop was in the Wax Museum.

Never have I ever seen my parents act like kids the way they did here.  At first, they played it cool "Here, get my picture with this person ::cheese::" but it quickly turned into poses and role playing, running and giggling.  I think this means they had a good time?

My favorite of course.  The detail was INCREDIBLE!

Grammy met the Biebs!

My favorite!

Small...   Large

Divas do it like this

Family photo.

Flashback to Graceland.  Elvis was pretty handsome!

Rude, Audrey.

 A family favorite for sure!

$$$$$$$$?

"I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti!"

..time of my life

Adrian!!!

No, YOU!

Which one is wax?  You decide.

Preparing his Oscar acceptance speech

After the giggles, we tackled as much of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  We obviously couldn't see it all.  It runs two miles and is on either side of the road.   We were determined to find some favorites.  Lucille Ball?  Where are you!?

Found her!

Never have I ever taken a tour bus in Hollywood.  Today was cool and rainy, so it was a good day to stay on a bus and learn about a lot of LA and Hollywood.

Here we go!

A winterized Hollywood Bowl

Never have I ever been as excited for the Oscars as I am this year!  This is the staircase leading into the Dolby Theater where Hollywood will be hanging out in about a week.  They are already starting to prepare.

Suffocating Oscars in the rain

 More on this later...

We drove down Rodeo Drive and the famous Bugatti was parked in it's usual spot.

The Beverly Wilshire Hotel aka from Pretty Woman where Edward climbs the fire escape

The La Brea Tar Pits

A gloomy Paramount Studios

The Walt Disney Concert Hall

Olvera Street where Los Angeles was born.  And then became one of the United States.

Luckily the next day was beautiful again.  We started at the Santa Monica Pier.  We thankfully avoided a Mexican table side serenade.

The Wells Clan

On our final night in LA, we had our Beverly Hills dinner at Sur.  Okay, so technically it is in West Hollywood but it is on the edge of Beverly Hills and is owned by a Beverly Hills Housewife so, work with me.

Mom and I donned our Sabika and headed out for the night, with Dad of course.

No famous faces to be seen.

Never have I ever had so much fun with my roomies! XO

Fast forward a few days beyond work...

Never have I ever been so jazzed for The 2013 Oscars.  I woke up early to get food and plopped on the couch to watch ALL of it.  The fashion and the fame and movies! All less than 5 miles away from me!

I enjoyed seeing where my parents and I had been just a few days earlier but also all of the metallics this year!  Beautiful!

One of my favorites of the night!

And of course, big winner, Jennifer Lawrence.  The day after photos are always entertaining...

Classy.  The Internets ruin everything.

Heh.

Save for a few hikes, I think I have had a pretty good tour of LA.  My contract is up 4/27 and then I am heading back east for a quick stay.  Then, I have a few plans up my sleeve but I am keeping them a surprise for now!  Two months til I am closer to home.  Anyone else want to visit before I check out!?  Lemme know!
