I am not a fan of disorganization. That is all.
Everyone is getting married and having kids. I traveled from the Atlantic to the Pacific and back again to figure out this life. I started a blog. It's a girl.

"Impossible Don't Exist"
The night began with a celebratory bottle of champagne/dance party at Jared's place. "Is this real life?" is what I think we toasted to.
Afterward, we met up with friends at Harris Grill and then Mad Mex to say our goodbyes and celebrate the good times to come, 'hands up toward the sky like we were catching drops of rain (P. Parry ™).'
The usual things happened that night...
Stephanie and I were twins:
I was emotional and sad to leave my friends:
I was flattered at the turn out from both ICUs (was anyone working that night?!?).
Impossible ideas:
Current personal theme song to keep me moving...
Drink and dance party.

(not posting a photo)
Not so shockingly, the "shocker" showed up in several pictures:
I was flattered at the turn out from both ICUs (was anyone working that night?!?).
Impossible ideas:
- Leaving friends and family behind
- Not working in the NICU with all of my awesome nurse friends
- Condensing my life into a trunk and half of a back seat size, leaving room for Max
- Fitting in appointments and last hangouts
- Finding a place to store all that will be left behind, and getting it to those places (thanks Jeff!)
- Finishing all of the travel paperwork by my deadline
- Getting out of debt
- Driving across the US of A (and mapping out the trip)
- Living somewhere other than Pittsburgh
Current personal theme song to keep me moving...
...I can do this.

Hammer Time
I finished my last night shift for approximately a month and while I was ready to celebrate (I curled my hair and even shaved my legs), it went out with a bang. I felt like I chased my tail all night trying to give the necessary care to my very sick patient while pleasing everyone involved (the family, the docs, study nurses and students, organ recovery group, myself and the unit).
After work, I drove to my parent house to drop my car off for inspection and a tune up to prepare my lil VW for a long trip. Unfortunately, the appointment took all day, but the mechanic woke me up after only three hours to get consent for the necessary part replacements/upgrades. I have to go back for 2 more tires that he ordered, because he didn't want to give me "the crappy ones" for a long trip. Thanks John! He later informed me that he "replaced the flat tire with a nail in it..." Wait... what?! I had no idea! Proof that if it isn't shiny or dying, I don't seem to notice. I don't think it was a dramatic flat as much as a slow leaker, but thankfully, that is all taken care of for safe travels.. with my mom!
Yes that's right. She decided to sign up as my passenger (thanks mom!) and co-pilot for the next 2,500 or so miles. Stay tuned for what shall be initially titled "The Adventures of Anne and Natalie Anne, with Ease" (Anne with an E.. E's... get it?) as we take on the southern United States. She will also be taking her first plane ride back to Pittsburgh in preparation for a longer trip to Hawaii this winter for my parents 40th wedding anniversary, how exciting and lovely!
The travel agency called and gave me good news after a mini-overwhelming 24 hours. As of Friday, my California license to nurse has been issued! I am legit and set to go. All of the paperwork that I scrambled for and pleaded to be sent has cleared, phew. She also sent me a to-do list of tests, appointments and paperwork that need to be completed before I start work on May 7th. Looks like my 10 days "off" are going to be jam packed full of work, appointments and farewells. And maybe time for a Porch Drink, Season 3 premiere (or finale), either way- the cliffhanger where you may win a basket of never used, half used or almost empty Bath and Body Works supplies, winter clothes or other odd and ends.
So the purging and condensing of my apartment continues. The countdown of work days is at three (there is that number again!) and till departure is at thirteen. My back is already beginning to tantrum and spasm in preparation.
Anybody want some planters?

Incoming...
With work ending soon, stress from playing pack or pitch or store like I'm on some TLC show, paperwork to complete for this new job and an endless list of tasks to complete before I leave, I've been feeling some pressure. This about nails it on the head.
Wet Head
This always makes this wet head laugh. Meep.

Numbers
Today marks exactly 30 days until my start date at Kaiser South Bay Medical Center in Harbor City, the zip code being 90710. Now this makes me laugh for a few reasons. Is this my life, for real? My packing better happen quickly! 90710 sounds so familiar, I hope I can find an equivalent to the Peach Pit and avoid any Ray Pruit characters...
Danger!
I was urged to finish some online signing for my contract and policy paperwork for Kaiser. I tried to buzz through them this morning when the number 3 kept popping into my head.
- There is a little over 3 weeks before I start my trek across the US, 3 time zones away.
- When I get there, the travel company will be taking care of 3 expenses for me - housing, meal allowance and utilities, sweet!
- If Jared and I should ever get bored in LA, there are 3 groups of people who will be near Los Angeles, San Rafael and San Francisco (holla!).
- Finally, for the first time in my life, I will only be working 3 days every week!
Pinch me!
